Ni-Hao!

Ni-Hao! Waving his little hand at me this is what Preston said to me today while we were putting out fall/Halloween decorations. I kid you not! Preston's favorite cartoon is still Dora the Explorer by far...but he's recently picked up an interest in Kilan. He may be getting a little bored w/the Spanish, who knows ;) Kilan always opens her show w/ "Ni-Hao Kilan", in Chinese it means Hi, I'm Kilan. But first let me back up......about a month ago Preston Lee & I were outside blowing bubbles & he starts talking gibberish, at least that's what I thought it was. So I just kind of ignored him. A few minutes later, the same thing....gibberish. So I asked him what on earth he was saying. He looks up at me & very clear says "Chinese". I was speechless. I asked him if he just told me he was speaking Chinese & he says "yes". OK....so he's trying to talk Chinese, no big deal, I forgot about it. Then sure enough today while helping me he waves at me & says "Ni-Hao". I think my mouth fell to the floor!! I asked him what he said & he says "Ni-Hao, Chinese". I said "Preston are you telling Mommy hi in Chinese like Kilan?" And he said yes. Of course I go RUNNING for Justin as fast as I can!! If only we had a video camera going at that moment, the moment I was running that is! :)~~~~

Preston & I are always talking to each other. Everything we do we talk. From the time he was less than a month old I would hold him on my chest & walk him around our house & tell him what everything was. While standing at the sink fixing him a bottle he was fascinated w/the clock above the sink, so I'd tell him it was a clock. Every time I was holding him fixing his bottle I'd tell him. Sure enough at 6 months that was Preston's second word.

Yesterday Justin & I took down Preston's baby bed & put up his "big-boy" bed. Preston did not like it one bit! We told Preston that Daddy slept on the same bed when he was a little boy....that did not matter to Preston! He cried & said "no....I want Momma's bed". Last night I read Preston a book & stayed in his bed w/him till 4am this morning. I'm hoping tonight I can pull myself away a little earlier. Gosh it's hard....I LOVE him sleeping w/us, but Justin & I are rarely get a full night of rest. So we'll see how this goes & we'll keep ya posted of course :)

We had a wonderful time while back in Missouri. We got there Tuesday morning & ended up staying for 8 days. Justin's parents have a summer place down on the lake so our first 5 days/nights were at the lake. Preston Lee loves "PaPa's Lake". Preston drove PaPa's Pontoon, rode the SeaDoos, threw rocks in the lake for Riley to fetch, and only took cat naps the entire stay. We spent a couple nights w/my sister, Rob & Tegan. They just moved into their new house....it's beautiful. The guys played paintball...they had a blast. My sister, Michelle (a friend of mine) and I shopped! We visited Preston's Great Grandparents while we were home too. They just couldn't get over how well he talks & how busy he was. Justin's Mom & I did some fall clothes shopping for Preston Lee, that's always fun :) And yes I hit Hobby Lobby and no scrap booking was not 50% that week....darn it! I still bought a few things though.

Of course I have TONS of pictures. I took close to 400 pictures while we were home. Geez!!! No, I'm not going to bore you w/that many, but I will post some. I'll work on getting them posted here in the next day or two, k.

Have a great day everyone.....and remember, It's the Lord's day! :)

Oh My Goodness, I almost forgot! The Pontoon broke down while we were out in the middle of the lake!!!! And of course Justin was the one driving it, lololol!! Justin's Dad had to call Sea-Tow, it was quite the afternoon! It was fun for us, but expensive for Justin's Dad!
