Day 1 of Kindergarten

Day 1 of Kindergarten went very well for Preston Lee.  It also went pretty well for Me and Addison.  Daddy was away on a train and I know that was hard for him.  Preston was full of joy and excitement when I took him to school this morning.  He was so excited I hardly had time to read him a letter I wrote for him and to say a quick prayer together, but we did and Preston just smiled and jumped out of the Yukon when we were finished.  He has 10 other students in his class and his teacher is Mrs. Ebmeir (sp?).

I asked Preston what he learned at his first day of school and he said " I learned that 14 plus 14 is 28".  That was more than good enough for me, lol!  He did proceed to tell me "we don't get to play with toys in Kindergarten!".

I think Preston is going to really ejoy Kindergarten and I am very excited to see and hear of all the exciting ways Mrs. Ebmeir introduces learning skills to the class.

Here are a few pictures I shot this morning during the hustle and bustle.

Yes, my child is climbing the wall!

Here were are. Kindergarten.

Preston Lee,

Here we are, Kindergarten.   I’m almost certain it was only yesterday that I saw the outline of your tiny little face in an ultrasound picture, I heard your rapid tender heartbeat over a baby monitor, I held you tightly as your tears cried pain when you broke your little leg.   I am certain It was just yesterday that I heard your voice saying “Gretchen, my tennis shoes need to be here tomorrow so I can start Kindergarten”.   Here we are.  Kindergarten.  An exciting chapter of life starts for you.  An exciting chapter of life ends for me.  Preston Lee, the last six years you have been the most extraordinary little boy.  You have filled my life with laughter, tears, frustration, excitement, anticipation, joy, pride and so much more.  I know in my heart there have been times when I have not been all I could have been for you.  But I pray that through your eyes over the last six years, as a Mother, that I have filled your life with as much love, joy, laughter and compassion as you have mine.     I have realized that from Kindergarten on, much of your time will be spent more with others, and less with me.   And because of this, I will only pray even more diligently for you and be even more aware of the quality of our time together.   As a Mother and friend, I will always be here for you Preston.  I love you so much and I am so proud of you.

Love,
Mom

It's T-Ball Time

Our Crawford T-Ball team had their first game of the season Tuesday evening. With having only 2 practices under their belts they played great!! Addison was so concerned where Bubby was that I had to take her over to the dug-out to see him. She runs to him as fast as she can with open arms screaming "Bubby!" Of course I had to get a picture of that ;) After the game the kids and I enjoyed eating some McDonald's at the park and I enjoyed chasing them with my camera ;) If you look closely at the one of Preston, Addison and the tree, Addison's mouth is full of french fries. Poor Addison she couldn't eat her foot w/out hearing me say "say cheese". Then today at Preson's tball practice I realized Addison was out of sight. My heart dropped and I started looking everywhere as fast as I could to find her where? In the mens bathroom with a plunger, plunging the toilett!!!!! Can you say yuck, germs, gross, disgusting, stinky, and the list goes on and on!!! LOL, Oh Addison there is NEVER a dull moment huh.
