Where Are You Santa?

OK...so we went to the Chadron Christmas Parade tonight, and once again the same Santa from last year. I'm sure he's probably been "the" Santa in Chadron for quite some time. But I don't understand why!?! I'm fed up w/rude Santa's. Santa's that cannot even say Ho Ho Ho, Merry Christmas should be FIRED!! What on earth are they thinking? Obviously not of the little ones. I'm going to be Chadron's Santa next year! Yep, that's right! I don't know what I'm going to need to do to accomplish that, but I'm going to! I may not be tall enough....I'm definitely round enough....and we all know I'm capable of saying Ho Ho Ho, Merry Christmas! Watch out Santa's b/c if I see you, or bring my child to see you & you don't say Ho Ho Ho...we are going to have words, not bad words, but not good words! WHERE ARE YOU SANTA?

Well anyway, yes Preston did enjoy the parade. He LOVED it...couldn't get enough of it. The parade itself was MUCH better vs. last year. I'm sure not having a blizzard this year did help. Preston smiled the ENTIRE time. He continuously roared like a lion even after us telling him it wasn't Halloween :) He also hollered Merry Christmas & waved at all the people on the floats. Honestly, I've never had so much fun at a parade in all my life. Thank you so much Preston Lee!

After the parade we got a bite to eat at Feiks. First time eating there, not bad at all. While we were waiting on our food, Preston picked something up off the table & was pretending to read it. He "pretend" reads quite a bit now. But he kept reading the same thing over & over. Justin asked me what Preston was saying/reading. I couldn't understand what he was saying. Well Preston continued to read the same thing over & over, off & on for about 15 minutes. FINALLY I recognized the word Ash. Then I about fell out of the booth when I realized he was saying "120 Ash." I asked Preston if he was reading his address & he said "yes, 120 Ash." NO, I'M NOT MAKING THIS UP! I believe it was probably the month of July or August this year when Preston Lee & I were sitting outside playing & I was teaching him our address. Preston would repeat it back to me & that was that. I haven't asked him his address since then, I'm sure of it. Well I guess I did a PHENOMENAL job of teaching it to him :) b/c that's what he was "reading" tonight, his address, 120 Ash. How funny/awesome is that? So after realizing what he was reading, Preston continued to tell us all during dinner "my address is 120 Ash."

Sorry there are no pictures of the parade, Preston, or even the boring ol' ugly Santa Clause. My camera batteries were dead. I was so upset. Throughout the evening I took many mental pictures & pray they never escape me b/c I had such an enjoyable, memorable night with Preston & Justin. Thank you so much Justin & Preston Lee.

**oh, for those of you who may be wondering, Preston Lee is doing GREAT w/potty training. He has gone through the night a few times w/a dry pull-up. And is doing wonderful during the day. Yes we have LOTS of accidents, but just as many successes. I'm very proud of my little monster right now :)

**Prayer Request. Please pray for all our BNSF employees. It seems that all we read or hear are things that are indicative of a VERY rough winter. I usually don't worry about this kind of thing to much, I know that God always takes care of us. But for some reason it's weighing heavy on my mind and heart. Justin is very young with the railroad as are many others. It feels gut wrenching to even think about Justin not being able to hold close by, or even being furloughed. No insurance, I do not even want to imagine. This has to be the worst time of year to worry about this, but I know that many of us are. I know God is in control & hears our prayers. So while praying, please say one for us too. Thanks :)

Have a great weekend everyone & bundle up on Sunday.....the high is 7 degrees.....brrrrrr!

I am sorry you guys were dissappointed with the Sant in Chadron. I can tell you a lot about him, as he used to be a neighbor.... He really is pretty cool....just doesn't say "HO Ho HO, Merry Christmas enough!
Mr. P is pretty darn smart!

Hey, Ang! The Santa is really the best one we have ever had. He is the "real" Santa to our kids... Give him a second chance, okay?

Glad you made it to the Parade -- our float got second place!! Woohoo!

Proud of Preston for doing so good with the potty-training -- give him hugs for us, and we'll see you tomorrow!

Well we all know that Santa's come in all shapes and sizes. I do like it when they are jolly and actually visit with the kids. I thought this guy looked good in pictures as I didn't get to see him in person, but a hat would have helped. Can't wait to see you Ho Ho Hoing next year! LOL!
