I always have my Christmas tree up by now. It usually goes up the first week of November, crazy I know, but I like to have plenty of time to enjoy my tree, wreaths, and decorations. This year is the beginning of something a little different: Preston. The last three years I did not have to take him into consideration about "when" my tree went up. His first two Christmas' I did only get to decorate the top half of the tree...that looked pretty funny...hehe. But this year I have to take into consideration the fact that he now understands Christmas. Of course to him it's all about Santa, and presents. So the sooner my tree goes up, well the sooner IT'S Christmas, to Preston Lee anyway. I don't want Christmas to seem too far away for the lil' guy, I don't want the anticipation to become "yeah right Mom, it's never going to be Christmas". So what to do? And also, we are probably heading back to Missouri about a week before Christmas, so therefore that takes a week out of my enjoyment of the tree. Although, Justin's Mom has the most beutiful trees you will ever see. They are gorgeous, her entire house looks just gorgeous at the holidays, inside & out. Anyhoo....I guess I'll ponder on when to put it up a few more days. We'll see how long I can hold off :)
Our first Christmas program practice is this Thursday night. I'm really getting excited about it. It's going to be a lot of fun :) I'm proud that this will be my 2nd year of directing the program for our church. This year I wrote the first & last half of the program, and the middle portion of the program comes from the Bible. The setting is kids playing on a playground while sharing their own ideas of Christmas. It then goes into the classic setting of Mary/Joseph/Baby Jesus, which will be performed by the teens. Then it goes back to the park setting where a few children give their hearts to the Lord, after learning the real meaning of Christmas. Isn't that just awesome?

we usually have our tree up by now too! My goal is to have it up by the end of the week. and my second goal is to keep Camryn from learning to crawl before we take it down ;) I reallllllllly hope you guys get to come home. I miss you soooo much! so will you know at your next appointment what the baby is? give Preston a kissey from us. and have him kiss your belly for us too!
love you!
Maybe you can make him a countdown calendar that he can put a sticker on everyday....he might anticipate getting to do that everyday, rather than Santa...until it get's a little closer anyhow. Just an idea. I am a freak about calendars, so we use them for all kinds of things. How are you feeling? I can't believe you are darn near halfway through this pregnancy!
Oh Angie, I can't imagine your house without the tree up early. I know you will do what is best for Preston. I want my tree up too BUT that darn window isn't done yet, half way but not all the way and that is where I want to put the tree. Heading to Sheridan on Thursday to await the arrival of my 7th grandchild so the tree will have to wait. Hope you are feeling well, I miss you and so does my house :(
