Hi Everyone, Addison's blood transfusion went VERY well yesterday, thanks for all the warm thoughts & prayers. We started the transfusion yesterday (Tuesday) morning at 8am and finished at 11am. Addi was awake & alert the first hour, and rested peacefully the last two hours. The blood transfusion was the infusion of only red blood cells, not whole blood. She received 2 ounces, and the donor blood was shipped in from Denver the night before. The process was fairly simple. The blood was infused through an I.V. Addison's body tolerated the process very well. The reason for the infusion was Addison's blood has been anemic for a while now. She had already received a 10 day regimen of Epogen injections, that her blood responded to well, but she still continued to have some problems with generating her own blood cells, her count continued to drop. After her transfusion, her blood pressure began rising (which is not uncommon). Her highest reading, that I know of, was 138/113. WAY TO HIGH FOR HER. So the Doc ordered a dose of Lasix(a diuretic to help rid fluid from the body) It worked perfectly. Today (Wednesday) her blood pressure is within normal limits as is her red blood cells count (hemoglobin & hematocrit). Praise God! Today Addi has ate 3 full feedings by her self (no tube feeding) and half of 2 other feedings. Yay Addi!!!! Here are some pics Mommy took during her transfusion. Thanks again everyone for all the prayers :)

So glad that it went well and that she's eating better. Miss you guys! See you soon.
YAY, Addi! Glad the transfusion went well, and I hope that anemic thing goes away with this new blood. Darn that anemia!!
She is growing up! She looks so big, and yet so tiny.
Hope P is doing good with all of this trauma for his little sister. Give both of them a smooch for us. Miss you! And you're always in our prayers!
