Thank You Deb!

Thanks to Deb Kennedy, last night I had the oppurtunity to attend the annual Christmas Dinner @ Fort Robinson. It was great! The decorations were beautiful, inside & out. The theme for the evening was taken from 1945. There were a few veterans from Fort Robinson that attended last night, I thought that made the evening perfect! The entertainment included Phaedra, a Mom/Friend from MOPS/UMAS. Phaedra sang a couple Christmas carols. You Rock Phaedra! Brandi, Lisa, Misy and I went together last night & enjoyed our "evening" out. Thanks for ALL the laughs girls! :)

When you walked in last night at the dinner they had 3D paper snowflakes hanging from the ceiling. I just LOVED them! So today I made some myself. I kind of got carried away with the idea of a BIG snowflake! But they turned out pretty neat. I also spray painted them silver so that they would match all the rest of my Christmas decorations. I also got an idea last night for my table center piece, I'll get started on that here in a few days I'm sure :) Thanks Deb for all the great decorating ideas too! I promise all the credit will go to you :):):)

One of Preston's Christmas gifts last year from his Great Aunt DeeAnnie was a handmade snowman, made by Aunt DeeAnn. The snowman is probably about 10-11" tall & has a hat & scarf that Aunt DeeAnn crocheted. Preston will not leave the hat & scarf on this little snowman. Preston wears them! He has the hat stretched out to where it just about fits him :) The scarf is just his size. He wore the scarf/hat all night tonight. I was beginning to wonder if he was going to part w/it to put his jammies on. I've decided to ask Aunt DeeAnn to make Preston his own crochet hat/scarf. It was so cute watching him wear it tonight I had to take pictures of him for Aunt DeeAnn. :)

Preston looks so cute in that hat and scarf!!! I will go get some yarn today and start working on a set for him to match the snowman's.
Enjoyed looking at his pictures and reading about his adventures.
Love, Aunt DeeAnn

You are sooooo welcome Angie, I am glad you enjoyed yourself and the snowflakes inspired you. I love them painted silver..........I can't take credit for them though, we asked Ellen Gartner's 5th grade class to make them. Didn't they do a great job? I like to make these snowflakes a little smaller too and have several sizes, as snowflakes aren't all the same:) I will have to tell you my plans for next year, I have the neatest idea for a centerpiece. I love the pix of Preston, he makes a cute little snowman himself.
