My Little Angel

As most of you know (because I sent out about 50 text messages today :) God is blessing our family with a baby girl, Addison Jane. We are gestationally at 22 weeks in our pregnancy & little Addison is measuring at 20 weeks. The entire ultrasound looked perfect. The ultrasonographer whispered in Preston Lee's ear the good news & he announced it to me & Daddy. In a little voice we heard "it's a girl", I raised up from the table as quickly as I could and said "Preston, did you say a girl?" Preston immediately stomped his foot and replied "I want a boy, I want a baby brother, I'm a boy!" We told him we take what God gives us :)

This was my heart's desire, a baby girl. This will be our second and last child, so a girl is a perfect gift from the Lord. Caring and praying more about the development of the baby vs. the sex, it was such good news every time the ultrasonographer would say "that looks/measures perfect". What a blessing. I cannot quit smiling!

When my biological mother (now deceased) held me in her arms for the first time, she said "my little Angel". I know when I hold Addison for the first time, my mother will be watching from above & saying with me "my little Angel."

Addison's middle name will be Jane, named after Justin's mom's middle name. Justin's mom is such a wonderful woman & has been so much more than a mother-n-law and friend to me, she has been a mother to me. For this reason I gratefully give Addison the middle name Jane.

During the ultrasound today Addison would not hold still. She was extremely active & it took a VERY long time to complete the ultrasound. There were several times when it felt as if an elephant was moving inside my abdomen, seriously. It was such a wonderful feeling.

I just began feeling her move inside me about 1 & 1/2 weeks ago when I started letting her listen to music. I did the same with Preston Lee too. Classical, Pop, Piano Classics, Country..... a little bit of everything, but we focus on the classical music...Bach, Beethoven, Chopen, etc. Preston LOVED it, and she seems to also.

The picture above did not scan very well. The actual ultrasound picture is much better but this will have to do until the next ultrasound which will be in 10 more short weeks. Someone today asked me if the picture was 3d. The picture is 4d Real Time. Is that the same as 3d? I have no idea. Anyhoo....thank you all for your prayers & text messages. This was a wonderful day for me, thanks for sharing it with us :)

P.S. Lil' Addison has been moving the entire time I've been sitting hear blogging :)

My mom and I kept picking up pink things for Addison when we were shopping yesterday! If we wouldn't have spent so much on the boys at Gymboree, she would already own several little outfits!
