To the Farm We Went!

What an adventure! What fun it was going to the Farm with Preston & his preschool class. Preston & I really did appear as City Slickers!! Yes I knew the corrals were going to be VERY muddy, but I thought, ah an old pair of tennis shoes will be fine, as I own not one pair of muck boots. Well let me tell ya, my tennis shoes were MUCK shoes when I left :) We first get there & we go to check out Regen's (a little girl in Preston's preschool, it was her farm) horse. Preston starts screaming, scared to death of the horse! Everyone took a ride on the horse, except Preston. Then to top that off, Preston points to the horse & very loudly says "What is THAT?" Oh how embarrassed I was. As IF my son doesn't know what a darn horse is :) BUT, I don't think he has ever been that close to a horse before, so I thought I'd let that slide. UNTIL, we go over into the barn & Mrs. Miller is holding Regen's cat, and Preston says to Mrs. Miller "What is THAT?" Oh-My son, you really know how to make us look silly....that is saying the least, I know. Then Preston goes on to ask Mrs. Miller what the cat eats. I suppose that is an intelligent question b/c on the farm they don't just eat cat food, they go for the big fat juicy RATS! But Mrs. Miller tells Preston the cat eats cat food....lol! All the kids, if they chose to do so, could feed the calves with a HUGE bottle. My son, nope not going to. That's too scary! All the other preschoolers, yep, this is too much fun! Is Preston too sheltered or what? Maybe it was just one of those days huh :) It was a lot of fun. I have several great pics. and will post them as soon as I can. The kids did great, they all behaved so well & really enjoyed the farm. Oh, I almost forgot...Preston also kept asking me the entire time if it was time to go home!!!!!

Addison is hanging in there. She's still not too thrilled about eating (wish I could say the same). She did polish off a bottle for me today. I'm hoping she'll do the same tonight. She is still being tube-fed every other feeding until she becomes more vigorous with the bottle or breast.

I realized yesterday that little Addi has a umbilicus hernia (herniated belly botton). The Doc says it probably protruded from her grunting & stretching so much. While being a premature baby, hernias & such happen fairly easy. It should correct itself by the time she is 2 y/o.

Tomorrow morning we will get the results of her blood work to see if her blood count is still where it needs to be.

I guess that's about it for now. Have a great day everyone & enjoy the beautiful weather :)

lol @ Preston! Carter probably would not go near any of that stuff (lol stuff?) either. And the moment he saw the horse he'd want to be held and not put down until we left!

I hope Addison begins to love her food as much as I love mine. and I think those little hernias are adorable ;)
